Introducing the New “Pro CAT Multitask” Fishing Boat

l

What If You Could Increase Your Fishing Productivity & Reduce Your Operating Costs While Providing a Safer Work Environment for Your Crew?

Thanks to the Advanced Technology Applied to the Pro CAT Construction and the Nature of the Boat Itself, We Can Help You Achieve Just That!

l

At Pro CAT, our mission is to make a difference in the world of coastal boating for today and tomorrow. Our choice to develop catamarans is a direct reflection of our corporate mission and what we have observed, over the years, as shortcomings and limitations of the typical monohull fishing boats.

l

But… Why Choose a Pro CAT Multitask Fishing Boat?

l

Even if catamaran type boats are not perfect for all applications, they offer benefits over monohull boats that makes them a good alternative to traditional fishing boats. Therefore, with these types of boat your get:

l

  • Softer Landings in Swells

When a catamaran moves forward, the air is forced to enter the tunnel and is compressed between the hull and the waterline. This becomes like a shock absorber allowing the boat to ride on a sort of air cushion. If the boat leaves the water, the re-entry is much softer than with a mono hull because the air trapped in the tunnel and the lower hull surface combine to lower the impact, thus providing a gentler ride.

A well-designed catamaran such as the Pro CAT is easier to navigate during gale conditions and in formed seas. Also, it can be driven in and out of wave breaks with real ease. The feedback is that the faster they ride, the better the navigation!

l

  • Greater Safety at Sea

It’s a simple fact that catamarans offer a safer hull than a mono. Like Pro CAT, good catamarans offer as standard, two separate tanks, self-draining and fully sealed decks, foam-filled hulls, two engines, stability and incredible performance in rough water.

Pro CAT innovates even further by adding 5 waterproof compartments to each hull, which means that even if you have a hull tear that floods 2 compartments, you will have 8 other compartments that will keep you afloat and take you home.

l

  • Great Maneuverability

With her huge width and her engines installed far apart, the Pro CAT reacts faster and easier on maneuvers, skipping the need of a bow thruster.

Last issued technology joystick control on twin station increase maneuverability when docking and fishing. Therefore, it is not necessary to stop hauling to reposition the boat on the right track.

The Pro CAT comes standard w/ two joysticks giving you full maneuverability control in all conditions

l

  • Stability in All Conditions

Traditional mono hull boats roll on the V of the hull. The deeper the V, the steeper the roll, the flatter the V, the harder the ride when the boat hits the waves. This roll effect can often be compounded by each wave creating a pendulum-style effect.

The Pro CAT advanced hull design allows for softer landings in a formed sea. The effect of the roll is greatly reduced by the distance between the hulls. While the bow of a mono hull pushes water, the Pro Cat with the design of its bulbs cuts the water and provides an additional vertical thrust, avoiding the number of impacts and reducing pitching. That’s how they provide stability and security both at anchor and at sea.

l

  • Increased Work Capacity

The Pro CAT platform design provides a width of 15’10”. That is 1.5 times wider that of a mono hull’s 11′ for a boat of equal length (32′). Its load volume capacity is comparable to that of a 38′ to 42′ mono hull. This allows more fishing equipment to be loaded onto a smaller boat without compromising stability or safety and has a lower cost of purchase and use.

l

  • Reduced Operational Costs

The design of a catamaran can be compared to a knife versus spoon effect. While a mono hull has a much larger surface moving in the water, and pushing water, the catamaran’s knife-like hull penetrates the water. The general consensus suggests that catamarans use up to 30% less fuel than equivalent mono hull vessels.

The Pro Cat design takes this effect even further and achieves an additional 15% performance at high speed compared to other catamarans. The result is increased fuel economy and requires lower-power engines for the same performance.

l

  • More Accessibility

The Pro CAT hull design and outboard or Inboard/Outboard propulsion allows for reduced draught (28”), providing access to shallow bodies of water and scheduled grounding, as well as a safe grounding during low tides.

l

  • Dual-Engine Reliability

All Pro CAT catamarans have two engines with hydraulic steering, electronic control and joystick. If one engine loses power, you can still safely return home using the second engine. With independent electronic steering on each motor, you always maintain full control.

l

  • Extra-Long Durability

The Pro CAT hull, deck and captain cabin are entirely made of fiberglass composite materials. This insures you can operate your boat knowing it’s corrosion resistant, built to resist the harsh conditions of the sea and you will be able to amortize it over a long longer period that with a traditional boat.

l

In fact, Pro CAT catamarans were originally designed to meet the very demanding needs of commercial fishing operators in England’s North Sea. These customers require hulls capable of enduring extreme sea conditions with strength and reliability. These fishermen put the boats to the test on a daily basis and it’s these testing grounds that ensure that your Pro CAT catamaran meets the requirements of the most difficult working conditions.

l

If You Fish Lobster, Crab or Any Other Fish… There’s a Pro CAT for You!

l

The Pro CAT catamarans have been designed to easily adapt to different work environments. So, if you’re in the fishing business we have the right Pro CAT for your needs!

Pro CAT catamarans are available in 32 ft or 36 ft formats and we provide you with three (3) different fish boat configurations:

l

Lobster & Crab Configuration

Thanks to the advanced technology applied to its construction, the Pro CAT catamaran offers added fuel economy, increased load capacity & deck urface and smaller draft which makes it perfect for lobster and crab fishing boat operators.

l

Long-Liner & Drift Net Configuration

This configuration offers eco responsible fishing with available autoline mustad systems, drifting nets with haulers and automatic squid jigging equipment.

l

Sea-Farm Configuration

This sea-farm catamaran configuration as 25” of draft loading and comes with a hydraulic crane, wide deck specific for sea-farms and an optional ½ or ¾ top to protect the catches from sun-ray.
